Ooh, nice. Things I recognise, even. Nasty-sturtialums, high-dangerouses, canna lilies… Sigh.

When I was three years old and my mother was expecting my younger sister, I asked the inevitable question, to which my Dad replied that he had planted a seed in my Mom’s tummy. I was later found swallowing canna lily seeds for all I was worth so that I could have a baby of my own. I gather I was given a purge.

I never see canna lilies without remembering my Dad’s animated retelling of this story, which grew ever more detailed and fantastic with every telling!

    Hi Karyn,
What a great story! Glad you liked the flowers.
