I find pageflakes is a great way to organize information for a class. In fact, my students chose that as the vehicle for their “online conference” that they put together on Nano-technology (class project). I also showed it to a group of teachers that liked the possibilities for its use. The one problem, however, is that I can’t bring it up in my classroom because of the filters put on computers in the classroom! I had to get the administrator to stop blocking it. Even then, students could view the information but could not edit it (except on their own personal computer) because of the security risk using an interactive program.

I’ve read other teachers who like PageFlakes, but for my current class a blog and a wiki cross-linked seems to work well. I should investigate it a little more.

Won’t it be nice when blocking and filters can be done in more fine-grained way!
